My Community Project 2019

VOTE FOR BAULKHAM HILLS NORTH PUBLIC SCHOOL TO RECEIVE A 'MY COMMUNITY PROJECT' GRANT FOR A NEW ENTRANCE GATE AND ALL ABILITIES ACCESS TO DAVIS AVENUE.

We need your help!

Thank you for taking some time to ensure Baulkham Hills North Public School is the recipient of a $95,000 grant thanks to the NSW Government My Community Project.

Each electorate in the state has been awarded $260,000 to be awarded to the project with the highest amount of votes. Voting will close on August 15th 2019.

What’s our project about?

All-abilities safe access to BHNPS from Davis Avenue.

The busy gate off Davis Avenue which provides access to Baulkham Hills North Public School is currently not a safe entry point to the school nor does it provide all-abilities access.

The project will make the entry point safer by moving the gate to the alternate side of Davis Avenue, in-line with the footpath. The location of the new gate will remove the need for students and community members to cross the dangerous Shepherd Lane. An all-abilities access path will be built to provide wheelchair and pram friendly access, making the entry gate from Davis Ave accessible to all community members.

The gate at Davis Avenue is a very busy access point to BHNPS. With over 960 students attending the school, hundreds of people use the gate each morning and afternoon. The current location of the gate is unsafe. By moving it, pedestrian safety will increase and traffic flow will improve. The all-abilities access path will enable the gate to be a safe, accessible entry point for the whole community.

Why should you vote for this project?

  • The new gate will make the Davis Ave entry safer for everyone including pedestrians and motorists.
  • The all-abilities ramp will increase accessibility to the school by providing an additional entry point for wheelchairs and prams.
  • By improving safety, the new gate will be better used reducing stress on the alternate entry points to the school.
